Spurs Rout Lakers 120-89: Lakers On Brink Of Playoff Elimination After Game 3 Loss (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES -- Tim Duncan had 26 points and nine rebounds, and the San Antonio Spurs pushed the Los Angeles Lakers to the brink of first-round playoff elimination with a 120-89 victory in Game 3 on Friday night, the worst home playoff loss in franchise history.

Tony Parker had 20 points and seven assists as the Spurs methodically seized control of the series by dominating their third straight meeting with the short-handed Lakers, who played without their top four guards due to injury.

Dwight Howard had 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Pau Gasol added his first career playoff triple-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, but the Spurs were far too much for a team without Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash. Andrew Goudelock scored a career-high 20 points in his first playoff start.

The Spurs can close it out in Game 4 on Sunday night.

The Lakers exceeded their 29-point home loss to Portland on May 22, 2000, the previous worst home defeat for the 16-time NBA champion franchise. Staples Center's lower bowl was half empty in the final minutes, an unfamiliar sight in an arena used to celebrating championships.

The Lakers haven't lost in the first round of the postseason since 2007, but they appear unable to contend with the tested, veteran Spurs. San Antonio led throughout the final 44 minutes, going up by 18 in the first half and 25 early in the fourth quarter with their smooth, flexible offense.

Tiago Splitter limped to the Spurs' locker room late in the third quarter with a sprained left ankle, but not much else went poorly for San Antonio while silencing the Lakers' enthusiastic crowd.

With Bryant and Nash joined by Jodie Meeks and Steve Blake on the injured list, the Lakers started Goudelock and Darius Morris, using a starting five that had never started together for the second time in three games. Morris added 24 points, getting 12 in the fourth quarter of the historic blowout.

After finishing the regular season with a loss at Staples Center among their seven defeats in their final 10 games, the Spurs took control of the series with two methodical wins in San Antonio. Nash was largely ineffective after missing the final eight regular-season games, and the Spurs' veteran chemistry was more than enough to finish off the Lakers.

The first half of Game 3 had the same theme. San Antonio jumped to an 18-point lead late in the second quarter with steady offense from 10 scorers, while the Lakers had an understandable lack of chemistry.

The Lakers' tumultuous season appears to be drawing to a merciful end, since they're nearly out of healthy players after beginning the season with a star-studded roster and championship aspirations.

Nine of the Lakers' 15 players were on their injury report for Game 3, and Metta World Peace played despite getting fluid drained from a cyst behind his surgically repaired left knee.

Bryant attended the game, hobbling through the Lakers' locker room before the game with crutches and a large walking boot on his immobilized ankle, but didn't join Nash, Blake and Meeks watching in suits at courtside.

The Lakers were forced to rely on Goudelock, their second-round draft pick from two years ago who spent this season in the D-League until Los Angeles signed him 12 days ago, and Morris, another second-year pro who rarely left the Lakers' bench this season.

Goudelock, the MVP of the NBA's D-League this season, put up plenty of points with ample opportunity to shoot, but Parker largely matched him while Duncan thoroughly outplayed Howard and Gasol down low with his timeless game as the Spurs pulled away.

Goudelock started slowly, but scored 10 points in a 2:25 burst late in the second quarter to trim San Antonio's halftime lead to 55-44.

NOTES: Gasol is the seventh player to post a playoff triple-double in Lakers history. ... F Boris Diaw, the Spurs' only player with a significant injury, is running on a treadmill and shooting in his comeback from the removal of a cyst from his spine. He's likely to play 2-on-2 with contact next week. ... World Peace ran with obvious discomfort in his knee. Before the game, he considered sitting out, but didn't feel he could miss a game with the Lakers' injury woes. ... Ashton Kutcher, David Arquette, Jon Heder and "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner watched from courtside.

Needed: A SEO company review site

You know what's missing in this world?

A website where you can list an SEO company you've worked with and make a review of whether they did you any good.

A bit like Tripadvisor, but called something like SEOadvisor.

I can't think of another industry where you basically hand them ?1000s and they do stuff and they won't tell you anything but "Be patient, these things take months," and at the end of the year when nothing has happened, you don't get your money back.

Actually I can think of another industry. It reminds me of homeopathic medicine.

And just like 'Tripadvisor' it will be open to blackmail and corruption.......

So I'm in for starting it...Anyone else?

Gawd, it would be brilliant. Those companies would really have to make a special effort to make a difference if they thought that future clients would be able to get access to their actual results.

They've had it their own way long enough.

I agree - we've had nothing but bad experiences with out-of-house SEO agencies.

My friend asked me to look at the performance of his chosen out of house agency over a year.
Ranking decreased, no change to on-page factors, I discovered just 2 new backlinks from less than credible websites and the chosen keyword they wanted to target had <10 traffic potential.

All of this charged at ?2,000 per month, with an additional ?1,000 report summary per month.

Wonderful.

There are so many cowboys out there.

People Per Hour have reviews of work done - search for SEO and pick UK flags and read the reviews. Maybe that is a better option?

I can recommend a couple of good firms, although they will not be cheap. Both in the UK.

Not sure it would work anyway, see if anyone can spot any genuine good reviews on the Review Center section below (bit like 'Where's Wally' but alot harder!):

I have never really looked at reviewcentre before.

This is a funny example: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews187146.html#Reviews

polar opposites.

After Childhood Cancer | Your Health Journal - Len Saunders

By Beth Kurt, MD

kidsjumpingLess than 20 percent of children survived cancer in the 1960?s. Fortunately, the five-year survival rate for childhood cancer is now approaching 80 percent. (1)

As a consequence of these improved survival rates, more teenagers and young adults who have undergone cancer therapy will go on to face special challenges when transitioning from active cancer treatment to resuming a normal life. Many survivors of childhood cancer experience late occurring health complications related to their cancer or its treatment; thus, regular medical follow-up is critical to maintain good health.

Recent studies have found that significant numbers of childhood cancer survivors do not receive the follow-up care needed. (2) The reasons may include financial difficulties, lack of insurance or a desire to move past a cancer diagnosis. To make matters more difficult, most primary care providers have cared for only a handful of childhood cancer patients and are not well-equipped to refer families to cancer centers to provide the best follow-up care. (3)

At our After Care and Transition (ACT) Program clinic visits, we provide a summary letter to the patient and their primary care physician, which details information about the cancer diagnosis, treatment and health problems that may occur as a result. We also provide resources for further reading and ways to stay healthy.

Among the issues that cancer survivors need to discuss and learn about at their follow-up doctor visits are:

? Signs and symptoms that should prompt a visit to their doctor.

? Risk for infertility and premature menopause.

? Risk for long-term heart toxicity and ways to improve or maintain heart health.

? Resources for mental health counseling.

? College scholarship opportunities.

? Other preventative health measures: use of sunscreen/risk for skin cancer, hearing protection etc.

One particular challenge stems from normal tensions between adolescent desires for autonomy and privacy, and strong parental desires to protect and care for their child both during and long after a life-threatening illness.

doctorDuring appointments with our patients, we do our best to educate adolescents and young adults about the importance of learning their own medical histories and speaking up when they have a concern about how they are feeling. This can be difficult, as adolescents may be inclined to deny symptoms like pain, depression or certain worries in front of their parents, and ?neglect? to share information unless the right questions are asked. Well-meaning parents, on the other hand, are so used to being the primary historian and making decisions for their child, that it?s a learning process for them, too.

We encourage patients and their physicians to contact us if they have questions about how a health concern may relate to their cancer history. All of us at the ACT clinic keep an open-door policy, even after patients have officially ?graduated? from the practice.

Dutch cyberattack suspect arrested in Spain

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) ? A Dutch citizen has been arrested in Spain in connection with what experts described as the biggest cyberattack in the history of the Internet, one launched against an anti-spam watchdog group last month, prosecutors announced Friday.

The Netherlands National Prosecution Office said a 35-year-old suspect it identified only by his initials, S.K., was arrested Thursday at his home in Barcelona. Authorities also seized computers and mobile phones. Dutch prosecutors do not release full names of suspects, in line with privacy laws.

According to a prosecution statement, the man is suspected of "unprecedentedly serious attacks on the non-profit organization Spamhaus." He was held on a European arrest warrant and is expected to be extradited to the Netherlands to face justice.

The so-called denial-of-service attack on Spamhaus fired a torrent of data at the organization's servers and was blamed for other disruptions online. Dutch banks and an electronic payment service also have been hit by similar attacks in recent weeks, but prosecutors say they do not believe they are linked to the Spamhaus incident

Spamhaus, a site responsible for keeping ads for counterfeit Viagra and bogus weight-loss pills out of the world's inboxes, said it apparently was targeted by groups angry at being blacklisted by the Swiss-British group.

Prosecutors said the cyberattack also hit "partners" of Spamhaus in the United States, the Netherlands and Britain.

At the time, Vincent Hanna, a researcher with Spamhaus, called it a "small miracle" the organization had remained online during the cyber onslaught.

Denial-of-service attacks overwhelm a server with traffic ? like hundreds of letters being jammed through a mail slot at the same time. Security experts measure those attacks in bits of data per second. Recent cyberattacks ? such as the ones that caused persistent outages at U.S. banking sites late last year ? have tended to peak at 100 billion bits per second.

But the assault on Spamhaus shattered the charts, clocking in at 300 billion bits per second, according to San Francisco-based CloudFlare Inc., which Spamhaus enlisted to help it weather the attack.

'Don't Get Sick' Bill: Missouri Rep. Steve Cookson Proposes Punishing Students Who Miss School (VIDEO)

HuffPost Live:

Missouri GOP Rep. Steve Cookson is sponsoring a bill that says the children of welfare recipients must attend public school at least 90 percent of the time in order to receive medical benefits. Students who miss more than 10 percent of class will be ineligible for aid. Cookson was also behind a controversial bill introduced last year that sought to eliminate any mention of sexual orientation in the state's schools.
